About Me
I am Charlene Vernon-Edwards, a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in New York and a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in New Jersey, dedicated to providing quality mental health support. As the founder of Opal Healing Corner – Hem of Love, LLC, I bring over a decade of client-centered experience, blending clinical expertise with a strong commitment to advocacy, leadership, and empowerment.
My passion for social work consultation includes mentoring and training Bachelor's and Master's level social work students, ensuring they develop the skills necessary for success. I offer supervision support focused on clinical documentation, client engagement, and maintaining professionalism in the field.
I have direct psychotherapy experience working with adolescents and adults facing challenges such as depression, bipolar disorder, and adjustment-related issues. Grounded in strength-based, client-centered, and CBT-informed approaches, my mission is to help individuals overcome barriers to care, build resilience, and reclaim their agency. Additionally, I possess extensive training in immigration assistance, specifically in areas such as asylum, VAWA, U- and T-visas, hardship waivers, and cancellation of removal.
